About ‘News Dissect’
In this digital era, information tumbles in, in quick succession. Many people have become purveyors of news, including half-truths and outright fake news. Government and their agencies also engage in deliberate falsehood and misinformation. They are increasingly restricting mainstream media from news events and direct contact with individuals and organizations with whom they transact business on behalf of the people. Instead, they prefer to feed the media with press releases.
Sadly, most journalists publish these press releases as given and hardly conduct additional investigation. By writing affirmative and celebratory stories about organizations and institutions, such journalists, more or less, become cheerleaders for such entities, rather than watchdogs that should guard public interest.
‘News Dissect’ intends to dissect news, and analyze them with informed and extra information. In other words, it will provide the missing links in the news story with an eye on the truth. It will debunk fake news no matter the source, and provide news consumers the opportunity to air their own views.
The publication does not chase or break news, but only examines trending or past news to unveil the truth and hidden details. It will, therefore, publish features, editorials, columns and informed articles –all in a bid to provide greater insight and uphold the truth.
